The rainbow mine is actually located in Mormon Basin, northeast of Malheur City.

My Mom grew up very near the Rainbow Mine couple Miles away on Dixie creek If you got to the Rye Valley cememtary Im related to 3/4 People buried there Names that come to Mind are Teeds Justus Cartwrights Lot of Family History so its kinda my Home away from Home

My grandfather, John Ward Sargent worked in the Rainbow mine until 1915 as a hoist operator. I have photos of the mine and of my grandfather when he was workin at the mine. I traveled to Malheur City to try and find the mine, but without success. I would appreciate directions.
