I grew up in Alma and in 1954 there was no campground or even many people around kite lake, it took several hours to get there in a jeep until the road was improved. If you fish in kite lake fish on the east side cast out over the rock shelf in the lake around 3PM. When I was a kid that is how I could catch fish as I remember a #2 Mepps spinner is what I used. Sometime I would add some of those little fresh water shrimp under or on the bottom of the rocks around the lake on the hooks of the spinner. Lake Emma is another a story for another day. I have a lifetime of stories I could tell about Alma and much of the area. I have hundreds of pictures of the area from my mothers estate. When I look at them it takes me back to the better, more fun times of life.
