I'm in my 70's now and I have been to Bethany Baptist church, for funerals, weddings and Sunday school since I was a child. My Great-Great Grandfather John Fox McMahan owned the land originally and donated it so the church could be built. He and his wife are buried there. Their Son Jesse B. McMahan and his wife Anna are buried there and their son Homer J. McMahan and his wife Dorothy are buried there as well as some of Homer and Dorothy's Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. They Still have a Memorial Day (basket) dinner each year. It is such a Quiet, peaceful place. Wanda (McMahan) Whitaker.
