My sister and I attended Lakeview Elementary in the 1960's as well. We are searching for a picture of the outside. By any chance do you have a photo of it, Mr. Tapper? Thank you, Janell Bash

The land that the Lakeview school is on came off my Great Grandfather's field. My grandmother Eva Westervelt went to school at Lakeview starting about 1891. My mother Ruth Johnson went there starting about 1917. My sister went to school there in the late 1940s and early 1950s and her three children also attended in the 1960s. The Albany paper once had a photo of the 4 generations at the school before it was shut down. My father Richard Tapper also went there from about 1912 until 1920. My Grandfather used the small field between his house and the school for a pasture. About 1940 a small biplane landed in the field to spend the night with The family that helped him with the farm. During the night the cows found they liked the taste of the fabric on the plane and destroyed most of the tail section. The plane was there for several days until it could be fixed and flown out. Jim Tapper
